3 QUESTIONS
ONE: Your new album “You’re Gonna Miss It All” is coming out in February. Tell us a little about the writing and recording process for that.
The writing process was the same as always. Jake and I (Bren) wrote the songs acoustic and then brought them to each other to make the songs full band. The record process was a little different this time around though. Like the last time- we recorded it ourselves, with some help from our friend Pat in The Hundred Acre Woods who engineered drums. Though, unlike with “Sports”, Sean and Ian played on the record which was something we were all very stoked about since the last record was just me and Jake. Then once we were done recording we sent it off to be mixed by Jon Low who worked on records like The National and Restorations (dude has a grammy nomination) and we couldn’t be happier with the result! When we got the first mixes we were amazed how great they sounded!
TWO: What would be your dream line up of bands to play with, from any era, past or present?
Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, Gwar, Los Campesinos and then us haha
THREE: What are the best and worst cities that you’ve ever played on tour?
We’ve never played any bad cities everywhere we go has been really really cool. That being said The Nile Theater in Mesa/Phoenix, Arizona was so so hot which might make it my worst city, but the show was great so complaining feels dumb haha. The best cities for me are Boise, LA and Chicago. Chicago being my top choice cause every time we go there, part of me wants to move there haha.
